About Me:
I grew up in Grand Rapids and graduated from Calvin College
with a degree in Business-Communications in 2008. After graduation, I pursued
my dream of living and working in Chicago and I currently reside here working
in Advertising & Fashion.
Two years ago I started my own lifestyle blog Project Soiree as a creative outlet and an opportunity to share my
passions and adventures throughout Chicago. My work on Project Soiree lead me
to an idea for a website that focused on locally owned businesses and events in
Grand Rapids and a chance to showcase what makes Grand Rapids unique. The
entrepreneurial spirit is flourishing in Grand Rapids and my mission with The Grand Rapids Guide is
to give people a closer look into some of their favorite small businesses. I
see value in capturing a voice behind the business and providing readers the
opportunity to appreciate these local businesses in a new light.
